I was part of Platform / Mobile Infra, and later Mobile Security. Our focus was creating a safe, productive development environment for hundreds of engineers working on food delivery apps (foodora, foodpanda, etc.).
Early-stage startup focused on aggregating car-sharing markets (scooters, bike-sharing) in Europe.
Initially started at MeinFernbus (later merged with FlixBus). First iOS engineer. Six weeks from hire to market.
My attempt to run an independent business. Built an independent, highly skilled team of mobile engineers. We would probably still exist if not for Russia's war against Ukraine. Obrij operated from 2012 to 2014.
Most of my time at Cogniance (now Star) was spent with CloudMade: great, challenging work building a commercial GIS system from the ground up. During that time, I got hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Mapnik, Python, C++, and hardcore backend development. It was also my first experience with iPhone, which later turned me into an iOS engineer. First iOS app in the App Store (MapZen). First public SDK: CloudMade SDK.
MVNO. Too early for its time. This was before iPhone. I walked down the street with a Motorola Razr and the C++ app we were building for it, taking photos and uploading them to my blog. We made Instagram + Twitter without realizing it, before it became cool.
Sailing companion for Apple Watch. Record your race, get basic stats. The app runs independently of iPhone.
Solar-position and daylight-planning utility built for field use and quick visual interpretation. I have been building this product for more than a decade now. It is amazing how people use it, from photography planning and trainspotting to organizing plants on a balcony or in a backyard. It is so cool to hear your feedback, people.
Simple parser for Apple refurbrished hardware selling in Europe. Good to know the reachest country in the Word also has the cheapest iPhone (at least in Europe). Yepp, Swiss it is.
Versioning support for design handoff workflows on macOS. Basically, Git for Designers.
Location-oriented app focused on discoverability and lightweight session UX.
Expense tracking app with practical workflows for routine finance handling.
